The mine car driver was so smartly dressed that young girls in the pit were enchanted by him. He wore a white headband with its knot behind to lift up both of the outer corners of his eyes, a flashy wide stomach band and suspenders, a newly-tailored white shirt, a pair of dark blue gaiters, specially made straw sandals, as well as held a brass lantern with a large reflector. He looked really stylish and seductive.
