In the morning of November 30, 1941, the pit foreman made an address in an oath administering ceremony which was held to encourage the national spirit under the Second Sino-Japanese War, gathering interested persons in the Tagawa district. Longtime employees were also recognized in the ceremony. On December 9th, nine days after that day, another oath administering ceremony was held, and Director Torahiko Nagao swore an oath in which he was determined to fight the Pacific War which had broken out the day before into all-out war.
