20.6 x 29.1 cm Ink Painting

It was said that each of these sandbags weighed about 50 or 60 kilograms. This torture was so cruel that it was rarely adopted in coal pits in the Chikuho region. It was called omorizeme in which two pieces of 50-millimeter-square oak timber were laid under the tortured man's shins. (In the Chikuho region, large blocks of mine timber were used instead of sandbags.)

Torishimaricho: "Ichiban omoi yatsu o mo hitotsu nosero."

Chief Regulator: "Take another of the heaviest ones and throw it on top."
