Yama no Kome-sodo #7
[Rice Riots at Coal Pits (Yama) #7]
20.9 x 30.2 cm Ink Painting

Rioters raided their mine store, broke goods, and some of them threw out fabrics for making kimonos. The rolls of cloth were piled up and left out in the open. A man stole them, wrapping them with a cloth that was larger than normal blankets.
A soldier spotted the man leaving with a pack on his back. The soldier asked him what was in the pack and ordered him to stop and put the pack down many times, because the pack was suspiciously large. However, the man just looked back and grinned at the soldier, saying, "Mind your own business. Don't meddle in my affairs. I'm just carrying my own things."
Then the soldier pierced the man's thigh with his bayonet. The man's aorta was ruptured and he died of blood loss after a while, hastening to the other world.

Text at the Bottom Left
The man who stole the rolls of cloth was reportedly not a miner in the pit.
