It was said that when the seemingly never-ending bloody fight had lasted for three days and nights, a brave man named Rikuhei Matsuoka appeared with a helmet on his head and a sword on his shoulder to reconcile the fight.

Additional Notes
I doubt that the police at that time did not try to stop the fight, but suppose that they could not do anything against the unstoppable pit workers. I also guess that the pit workers recklessly began to fight because of the crisp, simple, and straightforward nature of the men in the Onga valley, inspired by the Seinan War started by the people of warrior families in Kagoshima, Kyushu in 1877.

Rikuhei Matsuoka's Words: "Stop fighting and wait a moment, please!"
